The Baldès family sets its roots in Cahors in 1830, when Étienne Baldès planted the first plots of vines. When phylloxera hit most of the wine regions, their vines managed to survive the crisis, thanks to the micro-climate offered by this area, north of Toulouse.

Jean Baldès, as enthusiastic and innovative as his father, had the estate surface double in size and he started producing fine wines. For 30 years he has been making wine in this property, which he is passionately attached to, thus becoming nicknamed as "the master of Malbec". Juliette Baldès, Jean-Luc's daughter, decided at the age of 5 to become a winemaker and to continue the tradition of the Baldès family in Clos Triguedina, together with her younger brother Jean.
