91 James Suckling
A clean and fresh wine with blueberry, mineral and floral character. Medium to full body, fine tannins and a crisp finish. This is a very refined and beautiful Branaire.
90 Robert Parker
Deep ruby/purple, with sweet cranberry, mulberry and raspberry/blueberry fruit, this is always a distinctive St.-Julien and the 2012 has managed to avoid any of the hollowness or harsh tannins that can afflict some of the Médocs. It is elegant, well-made and an outstanding effort in this vintage. Drink it over the next 15 or more years.<br/>
90 Wine Spectator
Bay leaf and tobacco notes are backed by a core of damson plum, black cherry and red currant fruit. The bay leaf edge underlines the finish, with a hint of violet and a well-buried iron accent. An elegant expression of St.-Julien. Best from 2017 through 2024.

Also dann irgendwann lange Dekantieren.

Found just along the Gironde estuary, Branaire-Ducru is home to some of the greatest soils in the region for winegrowing – gravel. In 1680, Jean-Bapiste Braneyre was the first to discover the incredible potential of this property. The 1855 classification later confirmed the quality of the terroir. Branaire-Ducru and its prestigious neighbors then formed a group of châteaux that are now famous worldwide for their excellent wines. Here, quality is an absolute priority and Branaire-Ducru does everything possible to express the terroir’s intrinsic personality and complexity. Composed primarily of Cabernet Sauvignon, the wines express their character year in and year out with great regularity, displaying an enormous amount of fruit, freshness, and subtlety. The winemaking team is fully devoted to highlighting these characteristics in every vintage, and Branaire-Ducru is invariably an elegant wine and a quintessential Saint-Julien.
